For the longest time my shot of choice was Tequila. So when trying Zignum Mezcal, I thought since it comes from Agave it would be similar. I was wrong, but I think I found my new go to. Zignum Mezcal Silver is great alone or mixed into a cocktail. The difference between tequila and mezcal is: tequila can only be made with one specific blue agave, while mezcal can be made with eighteen types of agave. The both age similarly though.

While having a few drinks with my husband, I started looking up recipes to see what I could make and found one that was perfect for both my husband and my tastes, plus it is super simple.
The El Camino is made with:
1 oz. Zignum mezcal
1 oz. rye whiskey
½ oz. Bénédictine
4 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: Old Fashioned
Garnish: orange twist
Combine all ingredients and stir with ice. Strain over one large ice cube into a glass and garnish. Special thanks to: The Chestnut Club, Santa Monica, California for allowing me to find this.
