The story starts out with a little girl that smiles at a young man that is having a bad day. Through a series of events, you and your child will discover how that one simple smile can cause a chain reaction of good and happy interactions between strangers. The message in this book is so beautiful and important for our little ones to learn. The illustrations are so bright and fun and will have your child engaged the entire time.
Our children are going through crazy times that we likely would have never imagined and getting them focused on books will allow them to continue learning and growing even if they aren’t able to go to school right now. This book is also a great reminder for adults! Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day and the craziness of life, that we forget to be kind in our everyday interactions with others. One Voice, also written by Cindy McKinley, is an equally inspiring story. Instead of following a smile throughout the story, you follow the voice of a young boy that is raising money for a community project. The story teaches everyone how contagious kindness can be if we let it! We learn through One Voice, that all of our stories can be interwoven and that passing along a small piece of kindness or kind words, can change someone’s day and then likely cause them to continue the movement and make others happy as well! Such a powerful message written into a beautifully illustrated book that your kids will love for years to come!
