How to Keep Your Skin Healthy Year-Round

Healthy skin is something many people strive to have, but few know how to achieve. It’s not just about sunscreen and moisturizer – it’s also important to eat the right foods and keep your stress levels low. Not only does this article highlight things you can do to keep your skin looking its best all year round, but it also gives tips on how to treat common skincare concerns like acne, sun damage, dryness, and fine lines.

1. Eat More Yogurt And Blueberries

Yogurt with active cultures (and the subsequent fermented milk that comes out of it) is now widely recognized as having fantastic benefits for both digestive health and glowing skin, particularly when eaten every day.

The ‘good bacteria’ known as probiotics found in yogurt help to increase the amount of healthy flora in your gut, leading to excellent digestive health and a stronger immune system.

When you use harsh chemicals and powerful exfoliators too frequently, they damage the protective barrier of your skin and lead to dryness, irritation, inflammation, redness, etc.

All of these things can cause you to break out more often, which leads to an even worse complexion. So pick up the right facial wash and skincare products and treat your skin gently to avoid any unnecessary issues.

5. Focus On Moisture And Nutrition

For many people, it’s all about getting rid of the acne and scarring that you already have by using the right topical treatments like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

That’s totally valid – but there are also ways to prevent acne in the first place! By focusing on moisture and nutrition, you’ll be giving your body everything it needs to keep your pores clear naturally.

Keeping hydrated is one of the best things you can do for healthy-looking skin – opt for lots of water rather than soda or juice, avoid caffeinated drinks because caffeine dehydrates the body, and drink enough that you urinate at least four times per day. 6. Don’t Pick At Your Skin

This might seem like a “duh” piece of advice, but it’s more common than you might think!

Many people who have acne or scarring don’t know how to deal with the stress and negative emotions that come from having blemishes (and not being able to do anything about them), so they try to pick at their skin.

This is super dangerous because when you pop your pimples, you’re accelerating the healing process, which spreads bacteria to other parts of your face – leading to further breakouts.

So instead of picking at your blemishes, treat them by applying a warm compress for five minutes twice daily until they reveal themselves completely. Then apply a treatment product with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to keep them clean, healthy, and free of acne.
