Dental floss is most effective when used before brushing by removing surface debris such as sticky bits of leftover foods. Soak floss in mouthwash for 20 seconds, then wrap it around two fingers and gently glide between each set of teeth. Be sure not to overdo this step—you may irritate sensitive gum tissues if you pull too hard or do more than once every other day.
